About Us
 |
An institutional member of the Alabama Small Business Development Consortium. |
In 1980, Congress adopted the Small Business development Center (SBDC),
which authorized the creation of SBDC networks in each state. Former
Auburn Business School Dean George Horton embraced the idea, establishing
a SBDC branch at Auburn University in 1980. The Auburn branch was to
provide technical and counseling needs of small businesses in east-central
Alabama.
The SBDC at Auburn serves eight counties: Coosa,
Chambers, Clay, Lee, Macon, Randolph, Russell and
Tallapoosa. Residents in these counties have the opportunity to use the Center's
expertise and advice concerning many aspects for starting a business.
